What is RSV infection?
Respiratory Syncytial Virus (RSV) is a highly contagious virus that spreads through respiratory droplets when an infected person coughs or sneezes. While many infections cause mild cold-like symptoms, RSV can lead to serious respiratory disease in adults aged 60 years and older and certain individuals 50 years of age or older with certain health conditions. Pregnant females between 32 to 36 weeks gestation are recommended to receive the vaccine.
